Sand in my toes ... and the bed ... and J's hair ... ~ The Grace Between

Sand in my toes … and the bed … and J’s hair …

I’m remembering today. Sand in my toes … and everywhere else really. (Including the tiny bunk bed I slept in with both kiddos at one point–it WOULD NOT come out of J’s hair. Mostly because she liked to pour handfuls of it on her head). A turquoise touring bike with a cheerful bell. Wee Man splashing in the pool. The J shark diving for pool toys. (My girl can SWIM). Feeling whole with my family (not a guarantee after the last few years). Laughing with my favorite women in the world, G & L. My nieces and nephews loving on the Wee Man. And they LOVE him. My nieces and nephews loving on me. Playing in the surf with Wee Man. Little J telling me she loves hanging out with me (definitely not always the case:) J Wheeler finding what seemed to be an extraordinary amount of Great White Shark bones. The Gentle Giant herding all his cousins. Fried oysters (oh I love you Fried Oysters). J hugging Goggy and telling him she loved him but she was going back to her real daddy. Even the epic beach meltdown day in which five of the eight children were simultaneously crying on the day we left all the daddies at home. Or the epic beach meltdown day in which J made herself throw up hot dogs in the sand twice, TWICE mind you, because she was so mad at me. NAPTIME. Two dear friends rolling up on some serious crazy to come visit me. Ahh beach vacation, I’ll miss you. Till next year,
Remembering you fondly,
~M.
