Cubbies ~ The Grace Between

Cubbies

So we are redecorating our bedroom … (yay!) But that’s for another post. It’s going to take about a year on the current budget, but I’m okay with that amount of time because I am going to have to L.O.V.E. it. P doesn’t like change. So this is it for at least ten years … anyhoo, the point of all that was to tell you that he started making the first bedside table this weekend.

Of course I can’t just let him have all the woodworking fun so I snuck in 4 extra pieces of wood and for ten dollars I made this on Saturday.

The plans were from Ana White and Knock Off Wood.

The original inspiration was Pottery Barn’s numbered cubbies but I didn’t have the right paint for the numbers and I DID have peel and stick chalkboard labels. Probably could distress it even more but I’m sure that will naturally happen all by itself in the Huggins House of Crazy.

Wha-la! More school room organization. At the next house I will hang this on the wall at J level but the ledge was handy. I’m going to be a decorating fiend at the next house …

Anyway, fun way to spend a Saturday.

Did learn that Wee Man does not appreciate the sound of power tools yet, even with Daddy’s shooting headphones on.
