Who Are We Fighting For? ~ The Grace Between

Who Are We Fighting For?

Well it’s the end of Compassion Blogging month.

Our last assignment … a letter from our sponsored child.

An admission … we are relatively new at sponsoring. We don’t know much about sweet Emily.

I look at my J Girl and k.n.o.w. deep down in my heart I would fight to the death to give her everything she needs to live and live well. And I think that even across cultural boundaries, and through language barriers, most mommas are that way.

So I imagine five and six year old girls are probably pretty similar too.

I know what the J girl loves. I know what makes her eyes light up and her smile spread from cheek to cheek. So when I imagine Miss Emily writing us a letter, (judging from her impish smile), she might tell us about her toys, and her siblings, and her school. Maybe her favorite treats or her best friend.

And between the lines we might see her momma fighting for her, for her life, for her family.

And maybe, with our $38 a month, we can help her momma fight.

We pray for Emily every morning … we are anxiously awaiting our first letter. I can’t wait to learn more about her, to weave her familys’ thread bright through our story … teaching us compassion.

Please, if you haven’t checked out their website, visit Compassion and consider sponsoring a child.

I should warn you, it won’t just change their life. You will be richer for the choosing.
