Made To Be (And big news). ~ The Grace Between

Made To Be (And big news).

So this will come as no surprise to my long term readers. I struggle so much with my purpose on this hunk of dirt and rocks.

STOP THE PRESSES.

Here and here as a writer.  This one, and this, and my favorite, (as a Christian), and here and here as a mother. Pretty sure there is more, but I just spent an hour going down the internet hole of old blog posts and it’s late and I’m tired …

But friends? On a day like today, I don’t question it at all. The Maker of Heaven and Earth designed me to be the mother of these beautiful, rambunctious, wild ones, and it is a gift.

Editor’s note: (Even when a small one refuses to sleep at night and I may or may not have muttered curse words under my breath at 1 am because I AM SO TIRED. I did. I did do that. A GIFT, I TELL YOU.)

When I catch a glimpse of my rounded belly in the mirror and give thanks for our sweet baby girl, I know all the way deep down to the edges of my soul who I am and what I am for.

I was made to be hers, and she was made to be mine.

Our Hannah Kristine is knit and known by the King of Kings, held tight by the Namer and Counter of Stars, and her days in this family – whether they be ten or ten thousand – are written on His heart.
And oh this girl, she is known and loved by us.

For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them. ~ Psalm 139:13-16

Rejoice with us! 16 plus weeks down, 23 and change to go.

And for some fun, the parenting win I shared on Facebook today, in case you missed it.

“Happy St Paddy’s Day. Oh, what’s that? How did we celebrate? Well, try not to be jealous. I forgot to wear green, heard at the last minute that Chick Fil A had green milkshakes, drove to the wrong Chick Fil A on accident after sellin’ it HARD to the kids, bought chocolate milk shakes anyways, because Duh! Milkshakes! Stuffed dinner in their faces, threw some green food coloring in the milkshakes, and voila, VOMIT COLORED MILKSHAKES. Not everyone can be this awesome.”
