Thoughts On Communion ~ The Grace Between

Thoughts On Communion

{Editor’s Note: I actually wrote this a few weeks ago. I’ve been sitting on it. I scribbled it out in my trusty notebook, then set it aside to simmer … I do this sometimes. I write out hasty paragraphs and then come back days later, all rational and deadly. Whole lines die, thoughts heartlessly snuffed out in the pursuit of literary and grammar excellence. Or at least literary goodenoughness. Not the point though.

Anyway, I am guest blogging for F.R.A.Z.L.E.D. Military Wives Christian Network … just started. And my most recent post for them really stemmed from this.}

thoughts on Communion … {via our guest preacher three weeks ago, paraphrased by me}

When Christ took our place on that jagged wooden cross … splintered, bleeding, beaten … He knew, HE KNEW before the beginning of time what sins would place Him there. So when the cup of Life was offered to me, it was with the full knowledge of my depravity.

 And yet still He offered. Still He went in my stead.

Beloved, there is no sin, no wrong, no misdeed, that can overcome the grace and blood poured out on that wretched piece of wood.

He knows. And still the cup is offered.
