Pray for me y’all.

Today is the J Girl’s first day of public school. {She is in first grade}. I’m a wreck.

Last year, I was homeschool FOR LIFE. Now – after pregnancy, a newborn, a two year old, an impending deployment, and more than a few tears {from both of us} – in the immortal words of Ross from Friends, we are on a break. But I do feel a little like I’m cheating on my homeschooling friends.

{Editor’s note … This isn’t a place for the education debate please:) … we made the right decision for our family this year, as hard and emotional as it was.}

Our printer is still DOA so there was no Pinterest worthy printout memorializing the First Grade or her future career choices, but I did ask.

For the record, she wants to do nails, hair, and science when she grows up.

I heart this girl SO MUCH.

I cried when I dropped her off in her classroom. This girl, who I left once already for a WHOLE YEAR {more of our story that I haven’t written yet} … my heart aches when I walk away from her. Although, in all fairness, yesterday I was ready to sell her and the Wee Man to the lowest bidder.

The Wee Man is missing her already.

So pray for me … for wisdom, for insight, for grace. For 180 days of watching her walk away from me. Pray for our continued journey on this crazy parenting train.

In other news, Second Son is smiling at me!! My heart is melting.
