Happy Birthday Love ~ The Grace Between

Happy Birthday Love

So, yesterday was the hubs birthday. I would have actually written this yesterday, but I was too tired from spending his money all day then cooking him a fabulous dinner. (In my defense, most of the money spent was directly or indirectly for him . . . except for JoAnns. There is no possible way to spin that as helping himJ)
Anyway . . . in the spirit of getting to know the Huggins middle element, I thought I would share some little known facts about my better half. (Certainly the more tattooed half!) In no particular order . . .
He HATES getting change back in this order: bills, receipt, coins (stacked on top of each other). It makes him crazy and he will not move from the counter until he separates each item and puts it away in his wallet.
He recently broke a guitar pick during an acoustic jam session with his buddy C. because he was rockin’ out so hard. I haven’t seen him that excited since picking up J.
He subscribes to the Jeff Foxworthy principle wherein allowing your lawn to grow into an impassable jungle warns potential intruders that, “A gun lives here.”
He would rather fish than mow the lawn.
He feels about his guitar and music the way I feel about sewing, fabric, and all things crafty.
He has only cried three times that I know of since we met. During our rehearsal dinner, the Sunday he left for Iraq the first time when our dear sweet church in NC prayed over him, and when little J. was born.
He does in fact, have thirteen tattoos now.
He thinks he got the better deal in marrying me (Sucker).
He knew he wanted to marry me the first time we kissed (July 17, 2004).
His first vehicle was a 1998 Ford truck – he had it for 9 years and never had a single problem with it (A fact I think is nothing short of miraculous) and so he thinks all vehicles should be that easy to take care of.
He swears he hates my cat Frank but he secretly loves him.

So there – a peek into the inner workings of the one man in the world willing to put up with me. In the words of my little sis’, “Way to be born.”
And I must recognize my in laws Popo and Momma Huggs (whom I adore) for turning out such a quality product. This is certainly a day for me to celebrate the gift that he is to this family. . Happy Birthday to my love.
P.S. A fact about me I just discovered . . . my love affair with ellipses.
P.S.S. I realized that I didn’t really talk about how what an incredible husband/father/flower bringer/coffee maker he is, but those are well known facts so I am comfortable with the omission.
