Happy Resurrection Day.
I’ve written this before, but I need reminding.
I measure our life often times by the Before and the After.
And oh friends, the after is often times a hard place to rest in.
But wouldn’t you know the in between is bridged by a blood-stained cross.
And the Story is told across sixty-six books and God-breathed words and Truth is spilled out on the pages and whispered into my broken heart.
And the after never looks like before and it’s always a lot harder and sometimes we get better and sometimes we get worse.
But He has not brought us here to abandon us now {Hebrews 13:5}.
There is sunshine after the rain, burning through fog, through heartbreak, through pain.
And joy comes in the morning, after long nights of weeping {Psalm 30:5}. After goodbyes. After grief.
And after still, there is grace {2 Corinthians 12:9}, there is peace {John 14:27}, there is hope {Hebrews 10:23, Psalm 71:14-15}.
After is an empty tomb {Luke 24:5-6}.
And the angel rebukes us … “Why do you seek the living among the dead?”
Beloved, even in death, after is life {I Peter 1:3}.
He is risen.
He is risen indeed.
Happy Resurrection day from our hearts to yours. We are grateful beyond words for these lives we’ve been given, by virtue of the Life He gave us.
Love.
~M.
