I have a heavy heart today.
It’s days like these … A Blackhawk crash in Afghanistan on Monday night … that make me fearful of the days to come.
That make it near impossible to bid my anxious fears goodbye.
Some names have been released, some are known, but I haven’t found an official DOD link so I will not repeat them here.
I will say aviation is a small community. We are all grieving.
Please pray for the families and loved ones receiving the worst news.
Pray for their brothers and sisters in arms that woke up yesterday and went back to work.
In a helicopter … The mission doesn’t pause for grief, for loss.
Pray for our leaders faced with decisions that have irreparable costs.
Just … pray.

My deepest condolences to the families of those who were lost. My husband, while not a pilot, is in an air assault unit, and the tragic news of this crash hit me a little more personally this time. Every day my house shakes as the Blackhawks and Apaches and Chinooks come and go. I pray they will all be safe.
