October 20 we had Second Son baptized.
{Editor’s note: We belong to the Reformed tradition, wherein infants are baptized … “Baptism is a means of sanctifying grace and a gospel ministry to the people of God. It is a sign and seal of the Covenant of Grace illustrating what Christ has done for his people. Therefore covenant children of believing parents as well as unbaptized adult converts should be baptized”}.
It was a very special day.
As our children grow, this is our continuing prayer for their lives …“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” ~ Ephesians 3:14-19
Our Pastor was kind enough to pray this over our family after the baptism, although the effect was slightly diminished by the ear-piercing screams of Wee Man after he hit his head on the piano in his frantic efforts to leave the stage. So, pretty normal for us.We were blessed to have Husband’s father {and one of the bearers’ of Second Son’s name} with us.
Additionally, I even got Husband to pose for family photos.
love. it. all. 😉
Those are some wonderful pictures Molly, what a blessed day! LOVE the bow tie. Very Southern Presbyterian! 🙂
Love these photos, Molly. What a gorgeous family!!
Happy baptism, Boyfriend Jack! My prayer for you and for your parents: that you would walk humbly with and before your God. That you would be a good friend and neighbor. That you would try every day to love people, especially those who don’t act like they want it. That you would KNOW that there is a Savior who is a King… and He was little just like you once. Just like you.
Go forth. Be blessed. And be a blessing.
